Obey and uphold Third Faction's Mission.

No swearing or vulgar language/behavior - We are a family friendly org, so keep it clean in org chat and in public channels (i.e. Vicinity, OOC, Shopping, or Raid channels) and public places. Yes, there are children in our org and the rest of us prefer to keep it clean too. We understand that we're a bit more conservative with this than most other orgs. If you prefer to swear freely, make racist remarks, discuss sexually mature topics, or behave in vulgar ways, then this organization may not be a good fit for you. There are many very good orgs out there more suited to such content.

No Kill Stealing - This is attacking a mob that another player or team has already started attacking. No, it's not prohibited by Funcom, but it is not sportsmanlike, it's unbecoming of a member of Third Faction, and therefore is prohibited by us.

No Ninja-Looting – This is looting items from a kill that is not yours, or looting items that were agreed to go to someone else. If you’re in a raid, make sure you know the loot rules before you take items. We take this very seriously.

No Training - This is leading mobs to another player(s), knowingly putting the other player(s) at risk of being killed. This is often considered harassment by Funcom, it too is not sportsmanlike, and it is prohibited by Third Faction. Die with honor before knowingly endangering others.

No Begging - Don't do it anywhere. If you need something, ask for advice on how to get it, and do not pester -- it's just rude and annoying!

No Harassment – This includes bullying; pestering someone for anything (like items, creds, a duel, etc.); or continuing a confrontation or argument (about anything) even when the other person has stopped or asks to stop. If you're that upset about something, file a /petition or talk to a 3F officer. Otherwise, walk away.

*** MUST READ: Automatic Banning from Third Faction ***
Racism, Sexism, and Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This runs counter to why we exist, and if this is a part of you, you are not the type of people we are looking for. All other offenses will be decided upon and arbitrated by Organization council.

No Spamming Channels - Unless you're Kairi. Just kidding! But seriously, don't annoy other players (in org chat or public channels) by repeating something incessantly (more than once every 30 minutes) or by posting unusually large amounts of text. This really gets on people's nerves. When doing !calc, !items, !whois, !level, etc. in Org chat, please do so in tells to our org bot, Thirdbot (i.e. /tell Thirdbot !calc), unless you’re sharing the information with others.

Don’t use Org Chat as a Shopping Channel – We’re here to help each other, not to make a profit off each other. Please do not advertise items in org chat in an effort to make a profit. Sell your wares in your player shop or in the shopping channel.

Shop Rules

  • One shop per Player, not one per toon.
  • Only Unit Members or greater may have a shop -- Applicants must first be promoted to Unit Member.
  • Player shop rent is subject to change without notice. Normally player shop rent is between 1% and 5%. Player shop rent provides us with the money to pay our city’s rent.
  • A second shop granted upon approval by Admiral or Vice-Admiral only. This will be logged in this thread.
  • Players who have been inactive for 3 or more months will have their shops closed to free up for active players
  • Shops must have main toon's name in it in some manner. E.g., "Simoom's Shady Deals"
  • 3F Veterans who have left our family in good standing shall be allowed to keep their shops until they find a new home as long as they remain active players, are guests on the org bot, and shops are still available for current 3F members.

Only one player shop per person – ((That’s per person, not per toon. This only applies to those with the Alien Invasion expansion.)) Player shop rent is subject to change without notice. Normally player shop rent is between 1% and 5%. Player shop rent provides us with the money to pay our city’s rent.  Your toon's name must be included in the name of the shop.  If your shop isn't used, it will be closed.  Refresh your inventory periodically so it's not wasting shop space. A second shop is available for an alt under certain circumstances. Ask a General for more information.

Alts
Add your alts to your main's alts list - You are welcome to have your alts invited into Third Faction (or to the guest channel if they are Omni or Clan) however all alts must be added to your main’s alts list before your alts can be invited. After you’ve added them to your alts list, ask any officer to have your alt recruited, or ask a General or the Admiral to have your alt added to the guest list.

Use the right names in public – Out of respect for those who like to roleplay, we ask that you all please address each other in public (org chat, vicinity, etc.) using the name of the currently logged toon. (I.e. if Fawnspawn is online, call her that; if Laurazuli is online, call her that.

Don’t give out other Third Factioner’s alt names – All Third Faction members are required to list in their main’s alts list the names of any of their alts that are in 3F or on the guestlist, but that does not mean they should have to share their alts lists with all of Rubi-Ka! Please do not give out other Third Factioners’ alt names to any non-Third Factioner – no exceptions. If a non-Third Factioner is asking for the name of a Third Factioner’s alt, ask them if you can forward a message to that person and leave that Third Factioner an offline tell if you have to. (I.e. if an Engi from another Neutral org asks what alt Fawnspawn is on, please tell that Engi that you can’t give out that information but you’d be happy to pass along a message to Fawn!)

Towers

No attacking any tower fields without permission from a General - Turn off auto attack and keep pets on follow when traveling so this doesn't happen by mistake! The only exception to this is if someone attacks our own towers (and it’s not clearly a mistake), you may attack their towers -- ONLY attack the towers of the organization listed in tower announcements as the one we’re at war with.

If you trigger an attack on a tower field by mistake, leave the area immediately (do not fire back!) and notify an officer right away so they can inform the attacked organization that it was a mistake. If there is no officer online when you do this, leave an offline tell for the Admiral or make a post here on the forum letting us know. Any attack on another field, even accidental attacks, make our own fields open to attack ("hot").

Check with an officer from our Department or Defense during an attack to know what you can do to help. If no officer from the Department of Defense is online, check with the senior officer online.

AI Raids

Any Third Faction member may host a city raid, but if you aren't experienced at running them, you should have someone along who is.

Ask in org chat - If you're hosting an alien raid in our city, ask in org chat if there are any members with the AI expansion and who are of the right level who would like to join you.

Secure an officer to disable cloak - Ask in org chat if there are any officers available to disable the cloak for you. Please, don't whine or pester. If there aren't any available right then, please understand that they might be busy elsewhere and we don't expect them to drop everything at a moment's notice.

Assemble your team, then notify officer that you're ready - If there is an officer available to disable the cloak for you, tell them you'll let them know as soon as your team is assembled at the City Controller ("CC") and ready to go. Don't expect the officer to stand around waiting until the last straggler finds their way to the city.

Inform your team of AI Raid Loot Rights - The person providing the CRU has first dibs on all loot, org members in team have second dibs, followed by non-org members with third dibs. Be sure that you make this clear to non-org members before you invite them.

Insert CRU - If you're hosting the raid, it is your responsibility to provide the CRU. You'll need to raise the CRU level in the CC to greater than 50% full in order to make it so aliens attack. The more difficult you expect the raid to be, the higher you should raise the CRU level before the cloak is lowered because if the CRU levels falls too low during your raid, the General will fail to show. People doing solo raids should plan to raise the CRU level higher as well.
CHECK the CRU level before the General is slain. If the CRU level is too high, you leave our city open to a random alien attack. You are responsible for making sure there is another raid to get the ending CRU level to the proper level.

No, we do not promote people simply so that they can disable the cloak by themselves. Don't ask.
